Give Them What They are Looking For!!!
That's a little too simplified. Perhaps it would be good to review a couple of terms used above in the introduction. One term used above is "target." In the context of internet marketing, all of your marketing communications must speak to the needs, wants, desires, fears, aggravations, frustrations, etc., of those who want or need what you offer.
Another term used above is "attracting." It seems self-explanatory but then why are 97% of online businesses unsuccessful at "attracting" enough targeted visitors their websites or blogs? Attracting the "right" people to your website or blog is more important than how many people you attract. More importantly, if you are on a very limited budget, search engines still provide you with the most opportunity for free targeted traffic that can generate an impressive online income.
But the question remains...
Who Are The People Looking Online For What I Offer And What (If not to buy my product, service or opportunity) Are They Looking For???
Want the truth? People go online for one basic thing - Information! Now that requires a little more explanation. Even if they are just on FaceBook, people are looking for information about their friends - what they're doing, events, etc.. Search engines, the best and FREE source of targeted traffic are where you future customers are... Meet them where THEY start... SEARCH ENGINES!
What people are definitely NOT looking for (Once they've found you in the search engines), is to be sold something... At least not until three psychological factors have been satsified in their mind...
- Before they will buy from you they must feel they KNOW you
- They must LIKE you
- They must TRUST you
Give your future customers great information, advice, instructions, etc. using your own expertise, experience, skills, etc., at your website or blog. They will thank you for it and the three factors mentioned above will be present sufficiently to allow you to suggest they visit your sales site to purchase or join. In most instances, a lead will be generated by the prospect initiating contact for questions or more information.
In internet marketing, providing this is information which is tailored to your target market is known as providing "content."
The quality and quantity of your "content" will determine the quality and quantity of FREE search engine traffic you attract.
Who or what determines you content's quality? Search engines do with their super secret algorithms. And of course, the ultimate judge of your content... your visitors.
According to Ken Evoy of SiteSell services, Inc., quality content "pre-sells" the traffic it attracts rather than try to sell visitors which is a big turn-off. This pre-selling content allows the visitor to feel that you know what you're talking about and are not trying to "sell" them, you have their best interest at heart, and so they like you.
At SiteSell Services this process of creating valuable and relevant content, which then attracts search engine traffic, which then pre-sells that traffic and then montetizes that traffic by redirecting it to a sales page is known as CTPM. CONTENT => TRAFFIC => PRE-SELL=> MONETIZE.
Why does it work? Because it works hand-in-hand with the way people naturally use the internet! It's that simple. Not easy, but simple. It does take work to create quality relevant content. It takes work to research your target market and determine their wants and needs.
